This talk will explore Helvetia's exciting migration journey of its non-life reserving process from a fragmented legacy system to a cutting-edge, streamlined environment using Databricks. This transformation is driven by the challenges of efficiency, scalability, maintainability, and long-term auditability that arose after modifying the former IFRS 4 file-based workflow architecture to meet new IFRS 17 requirements.

The discussion will cover how a range of Databricks features is utilized to enhance workflows, from standard Notebook jobs to SQL Warehouses and Databricks Connect for PowerBI and Plotly Dash integration. Among other things, the new productive solution has already accelerated Helvetia’s closing timeline by improving data processing and visualization capabilities and has therefore been well-received by end-users. As such, Helvetia's transformation journey to a cutting-edge non-life reserving system is well under way.
