As AI moves into production, organisations must equip agents with the why behind decision-making, not just the data itself. Organisations are increasingly looking to AI agents to automate complex workflows and execute business processes end-to-end. While semantic layers and ontologies help agents understand enterprise data and relationships, they don't tell an agent what action is appropriate in a specific business context. AI agents must apply organisational intent, policies and historical context to new situations. They require runtime knowledge that combines semantics and ontology with governance, policies, permissions, lineage, and decision history so they can best build the organisational memory and align actions with business intent. This session introduces the Context Layer and explores how it accelerates AI adoption by enabling trusted, accountable decision-making.
