DSV has through acquisitions grown to the world's biggest freight forwarder. As fast consolidation and transparency are key factors for a successful integration of companies, DSV has build an Analytical Data Platform that eases standardization and harmonization of data. Originally rooted in traditional data warehousing, with scalability and efficiency as main drivers, we have been emerging into a Lakehouse driven by mesh principles for broader and more flexible data usage across the organisation. The platform has also been an enabler for ETA predictions for Linehaul Routes by analyzing real time GPS Data and improving Shipment Event Data Quality in Real-Time by combining Transport Management System Data and Carrier API data.
We will in the presentation focus on how we have aimed at achieving scalability and efficiency in a centrally managed setup, how Databricks is an enabler for this, and what benefits this given us when integrating new companies. We will also shortly outline some of our near real time solutions and the value they have provided.
